Alexander Nathan Barter, 23, of Joaquin, Texas, confessed to plotting of rape, necrophilia and cannibalism before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin of the Eastern District of Texas.
Barter had posted an ad on a dark website stating,
“I would like to try necrophilia and cannibalism, and see how it feels to take a life. If you’d be willing to let me kill you, are in the US (preferably in the south) and can travel by car, contact me”Alexander Barter
An undercover agent disguising as a parent responded and offered his 13 year old daughter to Barter, who expressed interest in raping and killing the girl.
In one of the emails Barter allegedly responded, “Nice! I’m in East Texas. How old is your daughter? Can we kill her?” He at that point went on to list horrendous things that he intend to do before and after killing her.
After a series of email exchange, the undercover officer and Barter agreed to meet at a hotel in Joaquin, Texas, where the girl would be supposedly assaulted. On Oct 19, 2018, Barter arrived at the designated meet site with a knife, trash bag, cellular phone and a tablet.
Barter reportedly folded quickly when he was seized by law enforcement and admitted to writing the emails and making the plans.
Barter entered into a plea agreement with the government that includes a sentence of 240 months imprisonment on each count. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
